Duplicate Birth Certificate

Apply for a duplicate or replacement of a lost or damaged Kenyan Birth Certificate. Ensure all required documents are included to avoid delays.

Important Notice

• This document must be submitted along with your application to confirm that you have read and provided all the necessary documents. This is mandatory.
• Incomplete applications will be sent back, with missing items highlighted.
• Do Not Staple The Documents.
• Processing may take up to 3 months or longer.

Requirements

• Two (2) duly filled General Search Forms for Replacement of Birth/Death Certificate. Click to Download
• Two (2) photocopies of the lost/damaged birth/death certificate.
• Two (2) photocopies of the photo page of the applicant’s passport.
• Two (2) photocopies of the applicant’s National Identity Card.
• A non-refundable fee of €10.00 for each certificate payable only by bank transfer (Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, IBAN: DE63100400000266014004) or EC-Debit card at the Embassy. Cash payments are not accepted. Overpaid amounts will not be refunded. Include a copy of the bank transfer slip with the application.
• For sending your confirmation letter (Germany only): A self-addressed, A4 envelope with stamps and Einschreiben – Einwurf pre-registration.
• For sending your certificate (Germany only): A self-addressed, A4 envelope with stamps and Einschreiben – Rückschein pre-registration.
• For applicants outside Germany: You will be notified via email to purchase a DHL international shipping transport label when your certificate is received from Kenya.

NB

• Provide your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address on the application forms before sending by post to facilitate dispatch of processed documents.
• It is the responsibility of clients to immediately notify the Embassy in writing via immigration2@kenyanembassyberlin.de or passport@kenyanembassyberlin.de of any changes to their postal address to avoid inconveniences in delivery.
