Duplicate Marriage Certificate

Apply for a duplicate copy of your Kenyan marriage certificate through the Embassy in Berlin. Please ensure you submit the required documentation to avoid delays or return of application.

Important Notice

• This document must be submitted together with your application as a checklist to confirm you have provided all necessary documents.
• Incomplete applications will be sent back with missing documents highlighted.
• Do *not* staple any of the documents.
• Processing may take up to three (3) months or longer, depending on completeness and follow-up.

Requirements

• Two (2) duly filled “General Search Form for Replacement of Marriage Certificate” (Click to Download).
• Two (2) photocopies of the lost or damaged marriage certificate.
• Two (2) photocopies of the photo page of the applicant’s passport.
• Two (2) photocopies of the applicant’s National Identity Card.
• A non-refundable fee of €10.00 for each certificate, payable only by bank transfer to:

  A copy of the bank transfer slip must be included with the application.
• For sending your confirmation letter (Germany only): A self-addressed A4-size envelope with stamps and “Einschreiben – Einwurf” pre-registration.
• For sending your certificate (Germany only): A self-addressed A4-size envelope with stamps and “Einschreiben – Rückschein” pre-registration.
• For applicants outside Germany: You will be notified via email to purchase a DHL international shipping transport label when your certificate is ready.

NB

• Provide your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address on the application forms before sending by post to facilitate dispatch of processed documents.
• Clients must immediately notify the Embassy in writing via immigration2@kenyanembassyberlin.de or passport@kenyanembassyberlin.de of any changes to their postal address to avoid delivery issues.
