Kenyan National ID Application - Berlin
Apply for a Kenyan National ID at the Embassy in Berlin. Ensure all required documents are submitted to avoid delays. Applications are strictly by appointment.
Things to Note
- Each applicant must appear in person at the Embassy for biometrics capture.
- Form Reg. 136C (Click to Download) must be duly filled before coming to the Embassy.
- Married ladies changing names must appear with their husband at the time of submission.
- Applicants must bring two (2) passport size photographs on a white background.
- Holders of first-generation IDs are considered first-time applicants.
- Payment of €30.00 is required via card or postal order. Cash is not accepted.
- Processing takes approximately 8–12 weeks. Collection is strictly via postal services.
- Applicants should provide a secure, registered, trackable self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage (minimum 100g) for dispatch of documents.
- Any documents in a language other than English must be translated and certified as true translations by the issuing authority or Embassy.

Requirements for First-Time Applicants / 1st Generation IDs
- Form Reg. 136A duly completed (Click to Download).
- Original 1st generation ID (if applicable).
- Applicant’s copy of Kenyan birth certificate.
- Two (2) passport size photographs on a white background.
- Copy of applicant’s Kenyan passport bio data page.
- Copy of parent(s) identity card.
- Copy of Registration certificate (for Kenyans by registration).
- Residence permit / Naturalisation / Registration certificate / proof of regained or declared Kenyan citizenship.
- Secure, registered, trackable self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage (min 100g) and full name + postcode.
Replacement of Lost / Mutilated / Duplicate Identity Card
- Form Reg. 136A duly completed (Click to Download).
- Police report (immobilise.com).
- Notarised affidavit explaining the circumstance of loss.
- Two passport size photographs on a white background.
- Copy of applicant’s Kenyan passport bio data page.
- Original and copy of ID (for duplicate/mutilated).
- Copy of lost ID.
- Residence permit / Naturalisation / Registration certificate / proof of regained or declared Kenyan citizenship.
- Secure, registered, trackable self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage (min 100g) and full name + postcode.
Change of Particulars on an Identity Card
- Form Reg. 136A duly completed (Click to Download).
- Applicant’s original and copy of ID.
- Two passport size photographs on a white background.
- Copy of applicant’s Kenyan passport bio data page.
- Residence permit / Naturalisation / Registration certificate / proof of regained or declared Kenyan citizenship.
- Copy of marriage certificate (if foreign-issued, notarised).
- Copy of Deed Poll and Kenya Gazette Notice for other name changes.
- Ladies changing names due to marriage must appear with their husband at submission.
- Secure, registered, trackable self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage (min 100g) and full name + postcode.
