If you require a Police Clearance Certificate from Kenya, the application can be initiated online via the eCitizen portal and finalized through the Kenyan Embassy in Berlin.

Important Notice

Applicants are strongly advised to complete the online application and payment via the eCitizen portal before submitting any documents to the Embassy. Incomplete or incorrect applications may be delayed or returned.

Processing may take up to 3 months or longer.

Checklist for Kenyan Nationals

This document must be submitted along with your application, to confirm that you have read and provided all the necessary documents. Incomplete applications will be sent back, with missing items highlighted.

  • Two (2) copies of the application form for the Police Clearance Certificate. Click to Download
  • Complete set of rolled and plain fingerprints on form C.24 taken by a Police Authority in Germany or country of residence. Photocopies are not acceptable.
  • Original Kenyan ID card and 2 photocopies of the front and back.
  • Photocopy of all official pages of the applicant’s Kenyan passport.
  • The police authority taking fingerprints must confirm the identity of the applicant as stated on the current passport and endorse with official signature, stamp, and seal.
  • An official letter from the applicant explaining the need for the certificate (in English).
  • A non-refundable fee of €38.00 for each certificate, payable only by bank transfer: Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, IBAN: DE63100400000266014004. Cash payments are not accepted. Include a copy of the bank transfer slip.
  • For sending your confirmation letter (only for Germany): a self-addressed, A4-size envelope with stamps and Einschreiben – Einwurf pre-registration.
  • For sending your certificate (only for Germany): a self-addressed, A4-size envelope with stamps and Einschreiben – Rückschein pre-registration.
  • For applicants outside Germany: you will be notified via email to purchase a DHL international shipping transport label once your certificate is received from Kenya.

Biometric capture (fingerprints/palm-prints) must be taken before submission by the applicant in person at the issuing authority in Germany. The Embassy accepts postal submissions of the completed package.

Processing Time

Processing typically takes approximately 3 months or longer from the submission of a complete application package. Applicants should plan accordingly and ensure all documents meet the required standards.
